Grammar Explanation

Use the Present Perfect Simple for state verbs such as like, love, hate, want, need, seem, sound, prefer. These verbs describe feelings, wishes, needs, senses, or opinions.

Use the Present Perfect Continuous for active verbs when the focus is on duration, activity, or something continuing up to now.
