Past Simple vs Past Perfect – Mixed Exercises (Positive, Negative, Questions)

Use past simple for a finished action in the past.
Use past perfect for an action that happened before another past action.

We use shortened forms:
didn't = did not
hadn't = had not

Example:
When I arrived, she hadn't left yet.
